Octarius System

The Octarius System is the Overfiend’s capital gravity well in the Octarius Sector; its principal world is known as Octaria or Octavius. The system is characterised as a mountain-continent gravity well, and Tenebra Prime lies within the same charted well.

Inquisitor Kryptman deliberately directed Hive Fleet Leviathan into this Ork empire. The Swarmlord eventually isolated and killed the Overfiend, and the capital fell after several years in which the Imperium observed the two xenos forces fight one another. The effects of this strategy did not remain confined to the sector.

The Octarius System remains significant as the arena in which Kryptman sought to direct one xenos force against another as an instrument of attrition. Unofficial fan summaries retain the Octarius Sector as its parent location and do not treat the system as a minor Ork backwater.
