Pluto

Pluto is a dwarf planet in the Kuiper Belt that overlooks the outer approaches to Terra. Its position on the edge of the Sol system gives it a watching role over traffic bound inward.

The Khthonic Gate, a structure dating from the Dark Age, stands near the world. It allows vessels to bypass the customary Mandeville points of entry into the Sol system. During the Solar War, forces of the Alpha Legion and of the Sons of Horus each attacked Pluto.

Sigismund’s defence of the world formed part of the resistance to these attacks, and Pluto lost its moon Kerberos in the course of it. The world’s standing rests on its situation at the outer approaches to Terra and on the proximity of the Khthonic Gate, which together make it a location of strategic consequence for the defence of Sol.
