Sagan Subsector

The Sagan Sub-sector is a subdivision of the Karthago Sector whose tithe-world, Sagan III, served as a logistical gateway during the Badab War. A tithe-world is a planet that supplies resources or personnel to the Imperium as a regular obligation. Sagan III fulfilled this logistical role and was not the home of a Space Marine Chapter. The sub-sector comprises Sagan I to VII, Gagan and Bale.

During the Badab War, Astral Claws forces used virus weapons in an attempt to deny access to the sub-sector. Loyalist forces nonetheless made it the Imperium’s principal point of entry into the Maelstrom Zone.

The Sagan Sub-sector remains significant as the supply route on which the loyalist campaign in the Badab War depended. It is distinct from Melchior and from the agricultural belts of the Segmentum Ultima. In the unofficial cataloguing used by 40k Orrery, the sub-sector is recorded under the karthago-sector parent, and Sagan is treated as a child of sagan-system.
