Artemis is a Watch Captain of the Deathwatch, a Mortifactor from Posul who was pulled off a feral world and then seconded to the Long Vigil because he was already too good at killing xenos for one Chapter to keep. An augmetic eye and arm are the receipt.
He ended a K'nib war the Guard took credit for, burned a Genestealer cult out of a system, and interrupted Eldrad's ritual on Coheria at the worst possible moment for Ynnead. Talasa Prime still sends him where the alien problem has a name.
The Deathwatch does not want saints. It wants a captain who treats every species as unfinished business.
