Distaff massacre
The Distaff massacre was the destruction of Eisenhorn’s Distaff headquarters on Messina by Vessorine Janissaries in the pay of Pontius Glaw. Glaw hired several Janissary bands to wreck the establishment and empty its cadre of Blanks, individuals whose presence provides a null screen. The Distaff trained and housed Blanks under Alizebeth Bequin’s line. In the Hereticus timeline, the hired Janissaries burned the house, and Eisenhorn lost the null screen on which his work had relied. Messina lies in the Thracian Primaris System, alongside Gudrun, Thracian Primaris, and Angelisar. The attack is recorded chiefly for its effect on Eisenhorn, who was left without the protection the Distaff had supplied.
