Messina

Messina is a temperate Helican world in the Thracian Primaris System that housed Eisenhorn’s Distaff until Pontius Glaw’s Vessorine hirelings burned it. The Distaff served as Eisenhorn’s headquarters on the planet.

Before 241.M41, a local cult on Messina removed the eyes of the dead and described them as windows of the soul. Sources disagree on the world’s location. Charts in Codex Eye of Terror place Messina in the Thracian Primaris System, whereas the Scarus map associated with Ravenor draws it farther out. This entry follows the former and retains the Thracian Primaris System as Messina’s parent system.

According to the timeline of Hereticus, Pontius Glaw hired bands of Vessorine Janissaries to wreck the Distaff headquarters and to empty Eisenhorn’s blank cadre. Messina lies within the same system as Gudrun, Thracian Primaris and Angelisar. The world is chiefly recorded for the destruction of the Distaff and for the cult practice noted before 241.M41.
