Rebirth of Guilliman

The Rebirth of Guilliman took place on Macragge at the end of the 41st millennium, in the sequence of events dated around 999.M41. Roboute Guilliman, Primarch of the Ultramarines, had lain in a stasis sarcophagus since Fulgrim wounded him during the Horus Heresy. Archmagos Dominus Belisarius Cawl reached Macragge by the webway after the Fall of Cadia, bringing Armour of Fate and accompanied by Aeldari of the Ynnari as well as Imperial survivors of Cadia, among them Saint Celestine and Inquisitor Katarinya Greyfax. Marneus Calgar, Chapter Master of the Ultramarines, at first refused Cawl’s request to attempt the resurrection, in particular because Eldar stood with the expedition. A Chaos assault on the Fortress of Hera and the counsel of Chief Librarian Varro Tigurius changed his mind. Calgar fought beside Saint Celestine and the Grey Knight Voldus, holding back the Black Legion long enough for Cawl and his Aeldari allies to complete the rite. Guilliman awoke in the new armour, drove the invaders from Macragge and the near approaches of Ultramar, and charged Calgar with securing the rest of the Five Hundred Worlds while he himself departed on the Terran Crusade, with Cawl among those who accompanied him.
