Caligula

Caligula is a Sabbat hive world where the Tanith First and allied regiments helped to break Nero Hive after a daemonic storm isolated the first assault wave. The storm cut the Guard’s initial landing force off from orbit, and the hive’s capture depended on ending it.

The Tanith First, commanded by Gaunt and known as Gaunt’s Ghosts, landed on the planet together with Raven Guard, Royal Volpone, Raymian and Lakkarii regiments. Corbec moved through the western streets of Nero Hive, identified the daemon responsible for the storm, and gave the Navy a grid reference that ended it. During the reconstruction that followed, bandits attacked convoys travelling between Aurelian and Calphernia. Bragg’s bait run and Marauder strikes destroyed them.

The Caligula of the Ghosts’ campaign is distinct from the Caligari Sector. On the Orrery’s Sabbat chart, its marker sits under the Pacificus/Tempestus dual path.
