Gildar Rift

The Gildar Rift is a wreck-choked region of the Segmentum Obscurus, near the Silver Skulls-patrolled Storm of the Emperor’s Wrath. The Storm is the stellar body named in Sarah Cawkwell’s novel. This site classifies the Rift as a sector under a merged Ultima parent entry, not as a single planet.

Huron Blackheart’s Red Corsairs concealed themselves in the region’s toxic fog after stealing the Wolf of Fenris. The Silver Skulls destroyed the Corsairs’ Executor grand cruisers, pursued the survivors across inhabited worlds, and declared the Rift cleared within weeks. The numbered Gildar worlds and the researched gildar-system entry belong to the same narrative, although this region entry has no child locations.

The Gildar Rift remains notable as the setting of the named conflict between the Red Corsairs and the Silver Skulls. Unofficial summaries retain the merged Ultima parent entry. They attribute neither the well described under gildar-system nor the ground fight on Gildar Secundus to the Rift.
