Hydra Cordatus

Hydra Cordatus is a forge world near the Eye of Terror that housed a vault of Imperial Fists gene-seed, the hereditary material of Space Marines. The vault drew the attention of two separate attackers: Perturabo, and later Barban Falk, each of whom sought to breach it.

During the Horus Heresy, the Cadmean Citadel fell to the Iron Warriors. In the late forty-first millennium (M41), Falk returned in company with Forrix, Kroeger and Honsou. The party emptied the remaining gene-seed stores, and Falk attained daemonhood at the cost of the garrison’s lives.

The world’s standing rests on the vault and on the two assaults made upon it. The fall of the Cadmean Citadel and the removal of the last stored gene-seed are the principal events associated with the location.
