Sabik Wayland was Iron Father of the Sisypheum, a Medusan priest-engineer who rescued Nykona Sharrowkyn from Isstvan V and refitted a damaged strike cruiser. The Sisypheum was a strike cruiser, a class of warship used for rapid, precise operations. Wayland is credited with keeping it operational after the wreckage of Isstvan V.
During the Horus Heresy, Wayland converted the wounded vessel into a precision instrument of war. He shot Fulgrim at Hydra Cordatus and accompanied the Shattered on Iydris. Later, when the gene-vaults of Luna became a theatre of open war, he moved the Magna Mater.
Wayland treated primarchs as targets and relics as cargo, regardless of their reputation. His career has no recorded conclusion, and he is described as missing. He did not return to Medusa to give an account of his service.
