Veridian System

The Veridian System is the Ultramar star system of Calth, whose blue-white sun is lethal to anything remaining on the surface. It is identified with the Veridia star cluster.

The Word Bearers used a false ork muster, a feigned assembly of ork forces, to ambush the XIII Legion in the system. The star has been poisonous since that action. The surviving population lives in cavern cities, and ship hulls are still built in orbit. The system also contains Ischara, Lamane, Ravishol, Veridia Force and Veridian, together with the station Numinus High Anchor.

The system is counted among the three principal loyalist disasters of the Horus Heresy, alongside Isstvan. Unofficial fan summaries place it under Ultramar, treat Veridia as a star cluster rather than a planet, and distinguish it from any Veridian Prime located elsewhere.
