Vigilus System

The Vigilus System is a star system of the Nachmund Sub-sector and the site of one of the few stable crossings of the Great Rift. The route through it is known as the Nachmund Gauntlet, and its principal world, Vigilus, is arid. That aridity is given as the reason the route has retained an Imperial name.

Bastion-class force fields once enclosed the urban sprawls of Vigilus. Orks, genestealers, Aeldari raiders and the Black Legion have each breached them. Marneus Calgar’s war in the system is the most recent conflict associated with it. Vigilus is largely dust, and access to water there serves as a mark of rank. The chart also includes the worlds Nemendghast, Falsehood, Geotrope XII, Hearthlack and Omis-Prion, the moon Neo-Vellum, and the star Astravigilia.

The Vigilus System remains significant as a Nachmund crossing that the Imperium cannot afford to lose. Unofficial summaries place it under the Nachmund Sub-sector and do not merge its map position with that of Sangua Terra.
