Lord Bale

Lord Bale wanted a straight fight and a daemonic upgrade. Sindri Myr promised both if the Maledictum on Tartarus came quietly. Bale hated the Ork-screen tactics and hated waiting more, but greed kept the chainaxe sheathed until the Blood Ravens found the camp.

Sindri needed a delay. Bale got Gabriel Angelos in a duel and died for the privilege of being useful to someone else's ritual, which is the Alpha Legion joke in miniature.

The Legion still produces lords who think sorcerers work for them. Tartarus is the training film. The planet Bale on the map is a different pin and a different problem.
