Bloodborn invasion
The Bloodborn invasion was a campaign fought on 854.999.M41, in which Warsmith Honsou and the daemon prince M’kar invaded Ultramar. It occurred concurrently with the 13th Black Crusade, a conflict in which Uriel Ventris took no part. Ventris escaped an ambush at Axum on the world of Tarentus, then killed the creature known as the Newborn at the tomb of Remus Ventanus on Calth. On Talassar, Ventris identified M’kar by his mortal name, Maloq Kartho, and gave Marneus Calgar the Shard of Erebus.

- Marneus Calgar (Commanded the defence of Ultramar and fought the Talassar battle in which M’kar was banished. He sent companies to Tarentus, Espandor, Calth, and Quintarn, and did not take the field on those worlds.)
- Uriel Ventris (escaped the trap at Axum, killed the Newborn at Ventanus’s tomb on Calth, and on Talassar gave Calgar the Shard of Erebus)
