Helican Schism
The Helican Schism was a division of authority in Scarus Sector after the fall of House Glaw and the capital’s move from Gudrun to Thracian Primaris. It concerned the question of who exercised control over the Helican region, and it divided the sector rather than settling that question. Three parties contested the matter. Commodus Voke applied puritan pressure, while the remnants of Pontius Glaw’s cult continued to exert influence. Lord Rorken, working through the Ordo Xenos (the Inquisitorial order concerned with alien threats), advanced a further claim. Each argued that it, rather than the others, held real authority over the Helican neighbourhood. Sector politics consumed loyalty more quickly than fleets could replace it. Scarus retained the name Helican, but it did not retain a single, clear chain of command. The schism left authority in the sector divided among competing interests.
