Return of Guilliman to Terra
The Return of Guilliman to Terra was Guilliman’s arrival on the Imperial capital after the fall of Cadia, undertaken to reopen the Indomitus war. Guilliman travelled in company with Cawl, Celestine, and Trajann Valoris. Terra is the capital of the Imperium and the birth-world of humanity. It is a hive world, a planet so extensively built over that open ground is held only by the powerful. The Emperor sits on the Golden Throne beneath the Imperial Palace, and pilgrims, clerks, and soldiers fill the streets that remain. Terra had earlier been the ground of the Siege of Terra, which came at the close of the Horus Heresy, the civil war that split the Imperium; Sanguinius fell defending the walls of the Palace during that conflict. Following the fall of Cadia, Guilliman returned to this world with Cawl, Celestine, and Trajann Valoris in order to reopen the Indomitus war. Terra remains the most heavily defended planet in the Imperium and anchors the Sol System alongside Luna and Mars. The return brought Guilliman and his companions to the centre of Imperial authority and to the site of the Emperor’s enthronement, from which the Indomitus war was to be reopened.
