Ob’lotai

Ob’lotai is an AI engram, housed in a modified XV88 battlesuit, of the Fire Warrior who trained the young Farsight in the use of the Broadside. The original Fire Warrior, a soldier of the T’au Fire caste, is no longer living, and only the engram remains.

The engram is numbered in the manner of software versions. It was designated 4-0 on Arkunasha and 9-0 in the campaign against Hive Fleet Gorgon, and later copies followed. In service, Ob’lotai destroyed a Scar Lords flagship over Vior’los and helped kill a Hive Tyrant with railgun fire. He also killed an Eversor assassin, which preserved Farsight’s life. Fire from Arks of Omen later damaged the suit so severely that the engram was reduced to a fragmentary, drone-like state, and O’Vesa was uncertain whether he could install it in a suit again.

The Eight continue to consult Ob’lotai. Whether they are addressing a person or a loyal targeting program remains unresolved, and the Enclaves have not raised the question formally.
