Commander Brightsword

Commander Brightsword is the name borne by a succession of cloned T’au commanders in the service of Farsight, beginning with Shas’o Tash’var Ol’nan B’kak. The first holder killed Vostroyans on Nimbosa and later caused a massacre at Koloth Gorge so severe that the T’au authorities recalled him.

The original Brightsword was killed by Last Chancers and Water Caste forces. O’Vesa subsequently grew replacements, and seven clones have since carried the fusion blades and the temperament of the original. One held the Enclaves while Farsight disappeared into Vior’los. The most recent died on Arthas Moloch while securing an extraction under missile fire, having continued to direct a Mont’ka, the T’au term for a decisive strike.

Farsight continues to appoint each successor as the next Brightsword, and the Eight, his closest companions, continue to treat each as the same individual. The name therefore functions as a standing title within the Enclaves rather than as the identity of a single person.
