Aethon Shaan is Master of Shadows of the Raven Guard, appointed when Kayvaan Shrike decided he was the wrong kind of hunter to hold the Chapter. Shaan had already captained the Tenth, Eighth, Fourth, and First, and learned Corax's Trifold Path of Shadow as a balance rather than a single ambush.
He held Deliverance as Lord of the Ravenspire, then won the Indomitus fights at Gelvia, Strigneth, and Aescia II with so little blood that Shrike finally had a successor worth an unceremonious handover. The Claws of Severax and the Blackwing Mantle came with the title.
Shrike still hunts. Shaan now spends the Chapter. Corax's sons prefer the quiet promotion. Enemies of Deliverance usually learn the new Master's name after the killing blow, not before.
