Corvin Severax

Corvin Severax is a warrior of the Raven Guard Legion, associated in Orrery’s records with the Legion’s fortress-moon of Deliverance. He belongs to the Legiones Astartes formation raised under the primarch Corvus Corax, whose doctrine of stealth, ambush and precision assault set the Raven Guard apart from the other Legions of the Great Crusade.

The surviving record of Severax’s individual career is sparse, and this entry does not extend it beyond what is attested. His allegiance to the Raven Guard and his association with Deliverance are established; his rank, company, homeworld and specific campaigns are not recorded here, and accounts of him, where they exist, should be treated as incomplete. His place in the Legion is best understood through the institutions around him: the Raven Guard’s chain of command under Corvus Corax, and Deliverance, the base on which the Legion’s fortunes are repeatedly centred.

Severax’s significance lies chiefly in what he illustrates about the Raven Guard as a whole rather than in any single act. His era is given as the Horus Heresy period, when the Legion suffered near-destruction in the Isstvan V dropsite massacre and afterwards rebuilt as a smaller, more dispersed force. Contemporaries of that window include Corvus Corax himself and the other warriors of the Legion who withdrew to Deliverance to recover. His fate is not recorded, and his status is therefore listed as unknown.
