Aurelia

Aurelia was the capital of the Aurelian subsector until a warp storm froze its cities and removed the planet from realspace for centuries. It is an ice world, and this entry concerns the world rather than the hive. Meridian assumed the capital’s functions while Aurelia was absent.

The warp storm displaced Aurelia from its orbit before the planet disappeared. Shortly before it vanished, Epistolary Kyras bound the Great Unclean One Ulkair there. Kyras later returned, tainted. When Aurelia re-entered realspace as a frozen tomb, the Black Legion and Eliphas used it as a beachhead for the Second Aurelian Crusade, operating among the frozen dead.

Aurelia is associated with several parties drawn into this theatre. These include Davian Thule, Tarkus, Avitus and Thaddeus of the Blood Ravens strike force, and Apollo Diomedes and Jonah Orion on the Chapter’s later lines. They also include Eliphas’s Chaos beachhead, and Ronahn and Kayleth among the Aeldari.
