Jonah Orion

Jonah Orion is Chief Librarian of the Blood Ravens, a psyker who accompanied Angelos through the Aurelian Crusades. A psyker is a person able to draw upon the warp, the realm from which psychic power derives. Orion succeeded Isador in the office of Chief Librarian and later had to oppose a Chapter Master who had himself begun as a Librarian.

During the crusades, Orion encountered Eldar, Tyranids and the Black Legion. Through a series of rituals, he protected the strike force from the influence of the warp. When Kyras declared Angelos a renegade, Orion sided with Angelos rather than with the Imperial authorities. The subsequent conflict, known as Retribution, turned that decision into open war. Orion survived the Exterminatus window at Typhon and the final battle connected with Cyrene.

The Blood Ravens required a Librarian who would not repeat the events of Tartarus. Orion’s response has been loyalty to Angelos and distrust of relics that appear conveniently. Subsector Aurelia contains many such relics. Orion remains in service.
