Darkstrider

Sub-Commander El'Myamoto, Darkstrider, is a T'au Pathfinder who passed his Trials by Fire and then refused the battlesuit twice, including a Stealth cadre, because Pathfinders die in the right places and suits die in the wrong ones. Commanders call that insubordination. Shadowsun calls it useful.

He shut down Necron mechanisms on Dal'yth, hunted a tri-headed beast on Nep'tan, and earned the name by markerlighting Gargant parts inside Ork camps during the Wars of Confederation. On Mu'gulath Bay he chased a Vindicare instead of filing a report, because the assassin was not going to wait for protocol.

T'au is his sept. The Empire is a rulebook he keeps walking off. The Greater Good still gets the benefit. The Ethereals get a headache. Darkstrider gets another near-suicide that somehow comes home.
