Aun'shi is an Ethereal of the T'au Empire who earned a warrior's reputation the rest of his caste is not supposed to need. Ke'lshan was his sept. Orks were the education. He took an honour blade into the lines and made the Fire Caste look late.
He has been a prisoner, a symbol, and a reminder that the Greater Good sometimes requires an old man who will not stay in the shrine. The Ethereals prefer to lead from contemplation. Aun'shi kept proving the exception is useful, and the Fire Caste still tell the story as if it were doctrine.
Farsight left. Aun'shi stayed. The Empire still uses both stories, for different audiences.
