Damask

Damask is a Helican frontier world of ball-tree forests and flint plateaus, where Eisenhorn recovered the Pontius crystal from a Saruthi excavation. The excavation was the work of House Glaw, and it took place on a colony world that had by then lost most of its settled population.

Colonists landed on Damask around 700.M40 and spoke a form of Gothic that had drifted from the standard Imperial language. A census in 235.M41 still recorded a healthy settlement. By 237.M41 Cardinal Dazzo’s Messina mission had enslaved more than nine thousand settlers to dig at North Qualm for eight-sided Saruthi tiles. Gillan’s Acre and the other known colonies fell silent beneath mutant scrub.

Eisenhorn’s ground team located the excavation and the Pontius engram, and found a Chaos Space Marine among the surviving members of the Glaw cabal. Damask lies on the Helican rim, grouped with Glavia and Ignix, and is not counted under Thracian Primaris.
