He walked Gudrun’s Glaw war and Damask’s Saruthi dig in borrowed naval-security kit, still trying to keep Imperial law in a room that had stopped recognising it. Loyalty outlasted comfort.

Heldane and Osma later used him as bait; Cherubael finished the argument inside his body. Hubris made the Arbitrator. Damask showed him how far the badge would not reach.
