Tobias Maxilla was the Rogue Trader captain of the Essene who lifted Eisenhorn’s retinue from Hubris through Gudrun, Damask, and KCX-1288.
He ran a ship of polished manners and heavily modified crew, treated Inquisitorial warrants as interesting cargo, and kept the Essene pointed at whatever Helican crisis Eisenhorn named next. Godwyn Fischig argued; Maxilla smiled and engaged the drives.
The Saruthi system and the Necroteuch burn marked the sharp end of that contract. Maxilla remains the named void lift behind Eisenhorn’s early Helican hunts.
