Vidar Sector

The Vidar Sector is a region of the Ultima Segmentum’s Eastern Fringe and the site of the Imperium’s first contact with the Necrons. It includes Sanctuary 101, Damnos, and a belt of rocky bodies associated with Necron tombs.

In 897.M41 the Sautekh Dynasty, led by Imotekh, flayed the convent in the sector. The Ultramarines later bore losses at Damnos on two occasions. The sector chart also lists Zorya, Carnac and Somonor, together with a number of remaining gravity wells. Some later maps place Damnos nearer Macragge; this entry retains the Eastern Fringe placement.

The Vidar Sector remains significant as the Imperium’s first open Necron case-file. Unofficial maps keep the Ultima Segmentum as its parent region. The Damnos system is catalogued separately under damnos-system.
