Lady Malys

Lady Aurelia Malys, the Mazeweaver, rules the Kabal of the Poisoned Tongue with manners sharp enough to hide the knife count. She used to be Vect's consort. She stopped, on purpose, and has spent the centuries proving she can match him at plots without sitting in his lap.

Her mind runs too many futures at once. Archons call it precognition; victims call it already having lost. She is polite, bored, and lethal in that order, and Commorragh keeps score of how often she has walked away from a betrayal that should have ended her.

Whether she unseats Vect is the Dark City's favourite unfinished sentence. Until then the Poisoned Tongue drinks first, and Malys smiles as if the toast were someone else's funeral.
