Helican Subsector

The Helican Subsector is a division of the Scarus Sector in Warhammer 40,000, and the setting of the Inquisitors Gregor Eisenhorn and Gideon Ravenor. Its administrative centre was originally Gudrun and was later transferred to Thracian Primaris. The Ordo Hereticus, one of the Inquisition’s divisions, has maintained a long presence there.

The subsector comprises more than a single hive world. Hubris, Hesperus, Sameter and Glavia are among its principal worlds, alongside a number of lesser ones and the Gudrun System, which retains the name of the former capital. Its history belongs to the 41st millennium and the era of Inquisitorial investigation, not to the Great Crusade. The subsector is chiefly known through the letters and trials associated with those investigations and through the continuing dispute over who exercises authority in Scarus.

The Helican Subsector remains the part of the Scarus Sector most often consulted. Gregor Eisenhorn’s cases against House Glaw established the reputation of Gudrun and of the Ordo’s work there, and Gideon Ravenor’s later activity in Scarus took place in the same subsector. The transfer of the capital from Gudrun to Thracian Primaris continues to define its map. This site treats the subsector as part of the Scarus Sector and does not group it with the Calixis Sector, although Inquisitors operate in both.
