Carl Thonius

Carl Thonius was an interrogator in Ravenor’s service, a data-thief who became host to the daemon Slyte. He preferred working with a cogitator, or computing engine, to carrying a weapon, although his duties repeatedly placed him in situations that required both.

His habit of using flect on Eustis Majoris gave the daemon its means of entry, and Slyte took possession of him. Thonius concealed the possession from his colleagues. He used power drawn from the warp to cure Kara’s cancer, and he concluded that he could put a daemon to use on the Inquisition’s behalf.

Slyte subsequently took physical form and consumed its host. Ravenor lost a pupil as a result. The case stands within the Ordo as a cautionary example of an interrogator who sought to make use of warp power and was overtaken by it.
