Kara Swole

Kara Swole is a former circus acrobat from Bonaventure who served Eisenhorn and later Ravenor as an operative. Eisenhorn engaged her for her athletic ability and theatrical skill. She continues to fight with a performer’s awareness of where an observer’s attention lies.

When Eisenhorn vanished, Swole joined Ravenor’s warband. During the Eustis Majoris operation she crossed a radiation bloom in a vac-suit to reach her team and contracted a cancer that was effectively a death sentence. She left the diagnosis off the briefing slate so that the work could be completed. Carl Thonius, who was already carrying Slyte, burned the cancer out of her.

Ravenor held feelings for Swole, and she keeps up the pretence that this poses no tactical problem. The pretence forms part of her working method.
