Wahleen

Wahleen is a Verghastite trooper of the Tanith First-and-Only Regiment, incorporated into the Ghosts after the siege of Vervunhive. She is one of a number of Verghastite hive workers and militia survivors absorbed into the regiment following the destruction of their home city during the Sabbat Worlds Crusade, when losses among the original Tanith complement created a need for reinforcement from among the newly liberated population.

Accounts of Wahleen’s subsequent service place her among the regiment’s rank-and-file rather than its command element, serving alongside other Verghastite recruits who were integrated into existing Tanith squads and, in some cases, into specialist functions such as reconnaissance. Later tradition holds that she took part in the regiment’s continuing campaigns as the Tanith First-and-Only was redeployed across the Sabbat Worlds, though the specific engagements attributed to her are not consistently detailed in surviving records.

Wahleen’s standing within the regiment’s history is that of a representative Verghastite Ghost: her inclusion reflects the broader absorption of Vervunhive’s survivors into a unit that had, until that point, been composed exclusively of Tanith nascent-ground veterans. She is noted principally for this role in the regiment’s composition rather than for any individually attested feat of arms.
