Agun Soric

Agun Soric is a Verghast miner who commanded a Vervunhive scratch company and later served as a sergeant with the Ghosts. A scratch company is an improvised unit, and Soric’s was drawn from Vervunhive. His career combines conventional military service with an undisclosed psychic ability.

The Ghosts gave Soric the rank of sergeant, and he served with them in a second war. He became one of the regiment’s most dependable soldiers. He then began to hear information that the Departmento Munitorum would prefer a Guardsman not to receive. A psyker is an individual with psychic ability. Soric concealed his while it was useful and was sanctioned as a psyker once it no longer was. He continued to pass the Ghosts warnings that he was not supposed to possess. The Black Ships, the vessels that collect psykers for the Imperium, nonetheless removed him from the line.

The novel *Only in Death* records the end of Soric’s service in uniform. Some voices heard in later campaigns resemble his. The Administratum does not classify these occurrences as recovered personnel.
