Magos Faustinius

Magos Dominus Faustinius of Mars commanded the Ark Mechanicus Caestus Metalican to the Necron tomb world Silva Tenebris, a salvage trial the Archmagi dressed up as an honour. He is unshockable, gallows-humoured, and still too human for Videx and Scaevola, which is why they keep trying to make his mind up for him.

He had to fight the tombs, a heretek uprising on his own keel, and the question of whether knowledge is worth a waking dynasty. The canonical answer was Exterminatus: the world died so the Necrons would not get it back, and the Caestus came home.

Mars sent him as a puzzle. He came back as a Magos who had chosen destruction over acquisition, which is not the usual Explorator hymn. Faustinius still serves. The next tomb will find out if the hymn changed.
