Camulos

Camulos was princeps of Legio Mortis and master of the Imperator Titan Aquila Ignis, a Martian engine-killer who took the Traitor Titan Legion's largest argument into the Magma City war. He fought for Kelbor-Hal's schism the way Mortis always fought: by standing on a city until the city broke.

Koriel Zeth's last trick was lava. Aquila Ignis went into the fire of Magma City and Camulos went with it, princeps and god-machine drowned in the foundry they had come to own. Legio Mortis lost an Imperator. Mars lost another excuse for calling the war a disagreement.

The engine became a tomb rather than a trophy. Mortis still tells the story as a martyrdom. The loyal forges tell it as the moment an Imperator learned that magma does not care about titan-grade void shields, or about the man inside the throne.
