Kage

Lieutenant Kage is Schaeffer's most reusable Last Chancer, a Guard officer who kept surviving suicide missions and then committing new crimes in the gaps. He entered the 13th three times: a murdered sergeant, a pardon, another murder, an assumed death, and then a voluntary return because the Colonel was still the only work that fit.

Armageddon was the fall. A daemon got into him on Hive Acheron, turned the team toward von Strab, and then lost the argument. Kage took the traitor governor into the lava and was filed as dead. Armageddon Saint found him alive, crediting the Emperor, and put him back under Schaeffer to finish the daemonic mess.

The Last Chancers do not keep monuments. Kage is the closest they have: proof that the method can produce a hero, and that the hero still belongs to the method. Schaeffer would call that staffing.
