Mad Dok Grotsnik

Mad Dok Grotsnik is an Ork Painboy, or surgeon, best known for having reconstructed the head of Ghazghkull. Ork medicine consists largely of violent intervention, and Grotsnik is a specialist who favours experimental procedures over routine ones. He has continued to claim credit, patients and spare parts from that operation.

Grotsnik has rebuilt Warbosses and devised surgical techniques that a Magos, a senior adept of the Adeptus Mechanicus, would find distressing. He has moved from warband to warband, leaving each when it no longer supplied volunteers. On Armageddon, patients treated by him have returned to the fighting with another individual’s skull serving as a replacement part.

Grotsnik’s reputation is bound up with that of Ghazghkull, whose career includes his surgical work. It also rests on the blood of his many other patients, a circumstance Grotsnik would regard as evidence of successful practice.
