Brother-Captain Stern

Arvann Stern is Brother-Captain of the Grey Knights Third Brotherhood, Bane of M'Kachen, a daemonhunter near his fourth century who treats one particular Lord of Change as unfinished business. Every time he banishes the thing, the thing sends a deputy. Stern files the deputies.

He fought at the end of Vraks, argued the Wulfen were not a corruption during the Siege of the Fenris System, and later took the Third to Sortiarius beside Lazarus's Dark Angels. In the Season of Blood he arrived over Armageddon late and still helped Voldus drive the fleet off.

Titan does not retire captains who have a daemon with their name on it. Stern's Nemesis blade and the storm bolter in the Terminator plate are still the Chapter's answer to M'Kachen's next appointment.
