Doombreed

Doombreed is one of the oldest Daemon Princes of Khorne, a warlord whose campaigns of slaughter predate the Emperor’s enthronement. He fought aboard Horus’s battle-barge at Terra, an appearance that Khorne’s followers regard as a satisfactory contribution. Ten thousand years later, Abaddon continues to call upon him when a crusade requires a named figure of great destructive reputation.

During the Fifth Black Crusade, ten million sacrifices were made on Tarinth so that Doombreed could emerge from a lake of blood and destroy the Warhawks and the Venerators. Blood Angels aboard the *Eclipse of Hope* subsequently bound him on Pallevon, at the cost of the ship. The binding did not prove permanent, and he did not remain confined.

Khorne has other, younger Daemon Princes, but none can claim a record of service that begins before recorded history. That antiquity, together with his presence at Terra and his repeated employment by Abaddon, defines his standing among them.
