Drakan Vangorich

Drakan Vangorich is recorded as Grand Master of the Officio Assassinorum and a High Lord of Terra in the Imperium of Man’s 41st Millennium. In the first office he directs the temples of the Imperium’s state assassins; in the second he holds one of the seats of the Senatorum Imperialis, the council of the highest administrators of the Adeptus Terra.

His authority is exercised from Terra, where the Officio Assassinorum and the High Lords are both based. Accounts of his career place him among the senior officials of the Imperium’s inner circle, and later tradition associates him with the Inquisition’s internal disputes as well as with the wider politics of the High Lords. The details of his origins, his path to the Grand Mastership and the precise sequence of his dealings with other High Lords are not reliably attested, and accounts differ on several points.

Vangorich’s standing rests on the combination of offices he holds. The Grand Master commands the means of removing individuals whom the Imperium has judged dangerous, and the High Lords are the body by which such judgements are made. His contemporaries are the other High Lords and the Inquisitors with whom the Officio Assassinorum works or competes. On the Orrery map he is anchored to Terra, and on the timeline to the High Lords’ era and the events associated with the Beheading. His present status is not firmly recorded.
