Skarbrand

Skarbrand the Exiled One is a Bloodthirster whom the Blood God Khorne banished following an assault upon his master’s throne. Armed with the axes Slaughter and Carnage, he operates outside any chain of command as an embodiment of pure rage. His physical form is distinguished by shredded wings, and he possesses no individual personality beyond a compulsion for violence.

Previously Khorne’s favoured Bloodthirster, Skarbrand attacked his master after Tzeentch incited him to strike the throne, though the blow succeeded only in chipping the Blood God’s armour. In retribution, Khorne throttled all personality from him, hauled him to the summit of the Brass Citadel, and cast him across the Warp for eight days. In subsequent campaigns, Skarbrand boarded Biel-Tan, where its Avatar defeated him, and later attempted to claim Guilliman’s head on Kairos’s Blackstone until the Terran Crusade compelled a temporary truce.

Although exile severed Skarbrand from Khorne’s command structure, his indiscriminate assaults against mortal worlds and the palaces of other gods serve as the practical measure of his standing with the Blood God. Banishment did not diminish his physical scale; rather, it simplified his nature, reducing him entirely to unguided fury.
