The engagement is recorded as one of many actions by which the nascent Imperium’s founder subdued the fortified warlord-states and techno-barbarian remnants that had divided post-Age of Strife Terra, clearing the mountain approaches that later Unity-era chroniclers folded into the broader campaign narrative. Its precise place within that sequence is not sharply fixed, and later tradition holds it among the harder-fought actions of the pacification, though detailed orders of battle have not survived.
