Fall of Shadowbrink
The Fall of Shadowbrink was a Forty-first Millennium campaign on the world of Shadowbrink, listed among the notable campaigns of the Vostroyan Firstborn. The world is associated in Imperial records with a large daemonic incursion, and the campaign is placed in the Forty-first Millennium, although its precise year is not fixed in the material reflected on Orrery. The Vostroyan regiments are the Imperial participants named in connection with the campaign, which is one of several theatres, including the Spinward Front and the Pandorax Campaign, that mark the Firstborn’s service in that millennium. The surviving account is brief, and accounts differ on the detail of the fighting. What is recorded is that Shadowbrink became a meeting ground for Daemons and Tyranids: Hive Fleet Leviathan is said to have defeated a vast daemonic force upon the world, an outcome that removed the incursion by consuming and overrunning it rather than through any Imperial victory alone. The causes of the original daemonic breach, and the exact share borne by the Vostroyan Firstborn, are not established here, and this page does not attempt to supply them. The consequences extended into the Forty-second Millennium. With the formation of the Great Rift, Shadowbrink is recorded as erupting again with warp energy and daemonic presence, which drew Hive Fleet Kronos to the world in the Second Battle of Shadowbrink. Kronos deployed neural nodes of Maleceptors and Zoanthropes across the surface, and the Shadow in the Warp they generated is described as closing the wounds in reality, after which the daemons of Khorne were banished.
