Seventh Black Crusade
The Seventh Black Crusade is the designation given to one of the numbered Chaos incursions launched from the Eye of Terror against the Imperium of Man. The Black Crusades form a recurring series of large-scale offensives, most often associated with Abaddon the Despoiler, Warmaster of Chaos, whose stated ambition is the conquest of Terra and the overthrow of the Emperor’s realm. The record for this particular crusade is sparse: accounts differ on its precise date, its command and its principal theatres, and Orrery records its span as the 41st to 42nd millennia as a timeline anchor rather than as a firmly dated campaign. It is hosted on Terra because that world is the strategic object of the series as a whole, while its map anchor remains general. As with other crusades in the sequence, the forces involved are recorded as drawn from the warbands of the Black Legion and allied renegade Astartes, supported by cultists, traitor Imperial Guard formations and daemonic hosts issuing from the Eye of Terror.
