Chogoris

Chogoris, recorded as Mundus Planus, is the steppe homeworld of the primarch Jaghatai Khan and the White Scars Chapter. Nomad tribes still ride the Empty Quarter under open sky, following seasonal migrations across its plains, while the fortress-monastery of Quan Zhou stands among the Khum Karta mountains, seat of the Chapter’s command since the Great Crusade era.

During the Great Crusade, Chogoris supplied the recruits and warrior customs of the White Scars Legion, whose primarch had been raised among its tribes under the stormseer Targutai Yesugei. When the Horus Heresy broke, the White Scars were summoned toward Isstvan, but the Khan’s independent movements kept the Legion clear of the dropsite massacre that shattered the Raven Guard, Salamanders, and Iron Hands. Jaghatai Khan later force-marched his forces from the Chondax campaign to reach Terra, arriving in the war’s final phase to fight beside Rogal Dorn’s Imperial Fists in the siege’s closing battles.

After the opening of the Great Rift, Warp-taint and raids by the Red Corsairs under Huron Blackheart burned the grasslands of Chogoris, testing the White Scars’ hold on their homeworld. Roboute Guilliman’s Indomitus Crusade subsequently reinforced the Chapter, restoring its strength for the wars of the Imperium Nihilus that followed. Kor’sarro Khan is recorded as the Chapter’s master in this era, leading the White Scars from Quan Zhou in the world’s continuing defence.

Chogoris’s history binds closely to Chondax, the Ork-contested world whose campaign the Khan abandoned to answer Terra’s call, and to Terra itself, where the White Scars’ late arrival marks one of the Siege’s recorded reinforcements. Its post-Rift history, marked by the Red Corsairs’ attacks and the Indomitus relief, situates Chogoris among the White Scars’ key theatres from the Great Crusade to the present era.
