Targutai Yesugei was the White Scars' chief Stormseer and Jaghatai's oldest counsel, a Chogorian who had seen both the Emperor and the Four in a single vision and still chose the ordu. He spent the Heresy trying to keep the Legion from splitting into lodge and sky, and to keep the Khagan from becoming a weapon with no rider.
When the path to Terra closed, Yesugei opened another. At Catallus he spent himself as a Stormseer is supposed to spend himself: one working, one death, a hole in the Warp wide enough for White Scars to fall through toward the Palace. Qin Xa had already died keeping the Khagan's body intact. Yesugei died keeping the Khagan's war intact.
The Scars still quote him when they need a reason that is not a sword. Chogoris lost the brother who remembered why they rode. The Siege got a Legion that arrived on time.
