Also known as The Blessed Lady, Actae, Actaea, Katerina Moriana
Cyrene Valantion, known as the Blessed Lady, is a blind mortal confessor of the Word Bearers Legion who came from the ruins of Monarchia. She is distinct from Cyrene, the Blood Ravens world that shares part of her name. Ultramarines lances took her sight, but Lorgar appointed her Confessor regardless. Argel Tal confided in her secrets that he could not disclose to his own Gal Vorbak.
Custodes killed her at Isstvan. Erebus returned her soul to her body in order to hold it as a means of control over Argel Tal. She died again during the Shadow Crusade, or appeared to, and afterwards departed with Damon Prytanis in the body of a Perpetual. Under the name Actae, she influenced the binding of Fulgrim, warned Horus of Lorgar’s coup, and travelled to Terra with Oll’s company.
Buried beneath the wreckage left by Erebus, she repeatedly died and returned until Dorn recovered her. She projected a hymn across the Palace, merged with a dead girl named Katt, and took the name Katerina Moriana. Her history is one of repeated survival, including the survival of the Word Bearers Legion itself.
