Zavier Gorn

Zavier Gorn was an Imperial Army tank officer who assumed command on virus-bombed Tallarn following the assassination of Governor Dellasarius. An ordinary human soldier rather than a Space Marine—a genetically engineered transhuman warrior—Gorn declined to await external intervention or permit the contaminated world to succumb without resistance. Instead, he mobilised planetary armoured elements to actively contest the surface.

Gorn directed the offensive against the desert position known as the Khedive, reasoning that defensive stalemate offered only gradual defeat. He treated the Khedive strictly as vital ground rather than a symbolic objective, sustaining substantial losses in personnel and armoured vehicles to secure it. Observers, including Kalikgol of the White Scars and Imperial Army staff officer Susada Syn, subsequently surveyed the territory won by his offensive.

Following the offensive, official documentation concerning Gorn’s subsequent career became scarce in Imperial records. While the Imperial Army retained his name in connection with the Khedive, surviving records preserve no further details regarding his life or fate. Gorn’s campaign nevertheless prevented Horus from securing the rapid conquest intended by the initial viral bombardment.
